The DS5162 is a self-contained screening tool incorporating high mobility, user-friendly controls, and durable construction to maximize uptime, making it an ideal long-term investment for anyone requiring frequent mobility and flexibility in a compact package.

The plant was designed to perform at capacities up to 500TPH at a bulk density of 100 pounds/ft3, yet is also ideal for lower bulk density/high volume applications. The plant is robust enough to accept large material sizes, yet efficient enough to provide precise end-product separation.

The DS5162’s rear loading hopper provides a large unobstructed feed opening, making the unit ideal for high volume applications including wood waste, hog fuel, top soils, aggregates, asphalt shingles, demolition, etc. The variable speed feeder allows precise metering of the feed material directly onto the screen to optimize screening performance. The feeder is available in both an apron pan design for heavy-duty applications, as well as in a lighter-duty roller-belt feeder configuration.

The 5 ft x 16 ft two-deck inclined deck screen provides an aggressive screening action to resist plugging while also optimizing the probability of separation, and the modular top deck design provides quick and simple interchangeability between various screen media configurations. Some of the media panels available include woven side-tensioned wire, grizzly decks, rod decks, and punch plate. The bottom deck can be fitted with either side or end-tensioned woven wire, and an optional ball tray is also available. This combination will enable the end-user to pursue a wide array of screening applications.

The on-plant hydraulic set-up functions enable the plant to be operational within a matter of minutes, reducing mobilization and set-up costs while also minimizing downtime. On-plant self-erecting discharge conveyors distribute up to two different sized products plus the oversize material.

The Caterpillar Tier III diesel engine provides the most efficient fuel consumption and lowest emissions available in the class. A unique optional bag house air-intake system prevents contaminants from being ingested into the conventional air filters as well as the engine itself.
